September 2024 President’s Message

As we approach the autumnal equinox, I would like to welcome our members to a new season of dinner meetings.  This year NJAIHA is hosting the first In-Person Professional Development Courses, since the pandemic began in 2020.  The local section’s executive committee members are arranging for four informative courses for Thursday, December 5, 2024.  Save the Date!  Further details will be made available shortly.  A summary of arranged events include:

  • Thursday, September 19, 2024, 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm @ Stage House Tavern in Somerset, NJ. This will be our first dinner meeting of the season.
  • October Dinner Meeting (Thursday, October 17, 2024) – Arrangements currently being made.
  • November Dinner Meeting (Thursday, November 21, 2024) – Arrangements currently being made.
  • Thursday, December 5, 2024: This year’s Professional Development Courses (PDCs) will be In-Person at PSE&G’s facility in South Plainfield, NJ.
  • Friday, December 6, 2024, Northeast Industrial Hygiene Conference & Expo hosted by the Philadelphia AIHA. Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ. Please consult the Philadelphia AIHA website, https://philaaiha.com/ periodically for upcoming details.
  • Our summer course has just successfully concluded.  Stay tuned for a detailed summary.

Our dinner meetings have industry professionals present and environmental health and safety specific presentations.  An excellent networking and learning opportunity for young or experienced professionals alike.  In an effort to grow our profession, please sponsor an EH&S student to attend any of our dinner meetings.

Finally, if anyone would like to give a presentation on an EH&S topic this year, we have two speaker spaces available for each in-person dinner meeting from October 2024 to June 2025.  We hope to provide as many diverse topics as possible to interest our members this year.
