RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the implementation of Accident Prevention Plans (APP) on Construction and Environmental Remediation Sites

- As directed, lead health and safety training for Company staff, subcontractors, and any parties required to participate to ensure achievement of exceptional health & safety standards including participating in developing training content
- Author health and safety related documentation (reports, logs, and records), completing required information for daily reports and client communications in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure that all documentation is organized and uploaded to the project portal
- Provide guidance to subcontractors, clients, and project team members to ensure that project activities are completed according to applicable health and safety plan(s)
- Conduct regular inspections to assess health and safety plan adherence as well as identify potential loss and risk
- Take appropriate actions to prevent loss and mitigate risk in accordance to Company standards and practices
- Ensure that deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner and to acceptable measures
- Represent the Company in a positive and professional manner in client and regulatory agency interactions
- Report health and safety incidents to the Company Incident Database
- Conduct related investigations thoroughly, completing associated documentation accurately
- Communicate and document corrective actions
- Verify implementation of corrective action, track and analyze corrective action, and close-out corrective action documentation upon acceptable completion
- Supervisor and mentor Health & Safety Technicians
- Review of qualifications of subcontractors
- Collaborate with Quality Control counterparts to ensure coordination between areas of responsibility

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Safety Studies, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Strong electrical/mechanical/structural and general construction experience required for this position
- The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
- An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
- Demonstrated success in teaching others health and safety concepts and requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of contract compliance in government construction or environmental projects (NAVFAC, USACE, AFCEE as well as federal regulations)

- The ASM will ensure the professional development of Area safety staff.
- The ASM will ensure the Area Staff efforts are aligned with the objectives and daily mission of the Operational organizations.
- The ASM will attend any and all OSHA citation hearings along with operations management provide consultation to management on process and support ways on limiting company losses.
- Participate, facilitate and review all Root Cause Analysis done in accordance with the H&M Incident Analysis Reporting process.
- The ASM will develop a proactive position for Customer and Regulatory outreach.
- The ASM will work with Corporate/Regional Management & Supervision to ensure safety goals
